WILLIAM
J. FEENY AGE: 78 William
J. Feeny, 78, formerly of
Fair Haven, died Sunday, March
1, 2009, in Edgewater, Fla.
Born in Long Branch, he lived
most of his life in Fair Haven
before moving to Florida 20
years ago. He retired in 1985
from the Electronics Command
at Fort Monmouth. He was a
veteran of the U.S. Navy,
serving his country as a photographer
during the Korean Conflict
and was an exempt member of
the Fair Haven Fire Company.
Bill
was an accomplished bird carver,
delighting family and friends
with his beautiful handiwork.
He loved fishing and spent
many hours on the Navesink
River. An avid golfer, Bill
played in many Pro-Am Tournaments
in Florida and recently shot
his age, an impressive accomplishment
in the world of golf.
He
was known for his quick wit
and wonderful personality
and will be sorely missed
by family and friends. He
was predeceased by his parents,
William and Rose Feeny; and
a sister, Margaret Feeny.
Surviving are his wife, Irene;
two sons, David and his wife
Cynthia of Toms River, and
Daniel of Morganville; two
daughters, Deborah Childress
and her husband Arthur of
Winter Garden, Fla., and Donna
Fischer and her husband Stephen
of Oakhurst; his brother and
sister-in-law, John V. and
Linda Feeny of Fair Haven;
and his sister, Kathleen Feeny
of Atlantic Highlands.
Also
among those who mourn his
loss are his grandchildren,
Amanda and Adam Childress;
Daniel, Colin and Mitchell
Feeny, and Stephen and Maggie
Fischer; and four nieces and
nephews.
