FRANCIS "FRANK" XAVIER MOYNAHAN, 81, of FAIR HAVEN,

He attended Rumson High School and graduated from a two-year Western Electric program. Frank worked as an installer for Western Electric until his retirement at the age of 62. During World War II, he served with the U.S. Navy. Frank received several distinguished medals, and in 2003 he received the New Jersey Distinguished Medal for those who distinguished themselves in the New Jersey militia. It is New Jersey's highest honor.

Frank loved the Fair Haven Fire Company and was an active exempt member for 53 years, working the Big Six at the Fireman's Fair for 40 years, an event he looked forward to each year. He enjoyed boating, fishing and especially playing golf. Although he never married, he loved the girls. He was so proud to see and talk about all his nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Frank was predeceased by his parents, Francis and Agnes; and a sister, Catherine Moynahan MacVeagh. He is survived by his sister, Dolores Ryan of Rumson; his nieces and nephews, Jill and Bill DeFelice, Jack and Maryanne MacVeagh, Kathleen and John Bonocore, Dolores and Dan Kerner, and John and Jane Ryan; his grandnieces, Emily, Caroline, Julia, Olivia, Catherine, Valerie, Morgan, and Gretchen; and his grandnephews, John IV, Cory Jason and Jay.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Thompson Memorial Home, 310 Broad St., Red Bank. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Church of the Nativity, 180 Ridge Road, Fair Haven. Interment will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.
