AGE: 88 FORMERLY OF WILKES-BARRE,
PA
Roy W. Nelson, 88, formerly
of Wilkes-Barre passed away
Monday, Aug. 10, 2009 in Birchwood
Nursing and rehabilitations
center in Naticoke Pa. He
was born February 2, 1921
in Arlington NJ and was the
son of the late John and Vera
Kallquist Nelson. Roy enlisted
in the Army serving in Australia
and the Philippines and New
Guinea in WWII, Reaching the
rank of sergeant.
He
was a former boro administrator
and court clerk in Fair Haven
New Jersey. He was a a member
of the Fair Haven Fire Dept,
AARP. Board of Directors of
the Senior Craftsmen in Wilkes-Barre.
He was a member of St. Maria
Gorretti parish and had served
as a Eucharist minister. He
was an excellent craftsmen
that spent his time in his
retirement with his family,
Building dollhouses, playing
golf with his buddies, and
also enjoyed traveling.
He was preceded in death by
his wife of 44 years, Rita
Gregg Nelson; sister, Lorraine
Mottershead, and grandson
William J. Hisker VI. He is
survived by his children,
Vera Hisker, and husband William,
Greensburg PA, Karen Jesse
and husband Paul, Plymouth
PA, Gregory and wife Robin
Nelson LaCenter, WA Jeffery
and wife Brenda Nelson Harleysville,
PA; 11 grandchildren and 6
great grandchildren..
