Madeline RobbinsMadeline Bruder Robbins, 92, of Bonita Springs, FL, died peacefully on Monday, October 6, 2014 at the Life Care Center in Estero. She was born on October 9, 1921 in Kearny, NJ, daughter of Philip and Anne McNamara Bruder, and sister of Marie and Elizabeth Bruder. She graduated from Asbury Park High School in 1939. Madeline lived and raised a family in Fair Haven, NJ before retiring to Citrus Park in Bonita Springs with her husband, Alfred T. Robbins in the early 1980s.

Madeline was one of the original residents of Citrus Park in Bonita Springs and was a member of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church. She was a former member of the Church of the Nativity in Fair Haven, NJ and was a member of the Altar Guild. She was also a member of the Fair Haven Fire Department Auxiliary. Madeline was a valuable assistant to the Fair Haven Borough Clerk and served on the Election Board for many years.Robbins

Madeline is survived by her loving children, Kathleen Robbins of Bonita Springs, FL; Alfred Thomas Robbins, Jr. and wife, Vanessa of Allendale, NJ; Maureen Fournier and husband, Gerry of Mount Desert, ME; Elizabeth Smith and husband, Bruce of Little Silver, NJ; eight grandchildren, Rafer Roberts and wife Nan, Jacob Roberts and wife Julie, Gabi and Camila Robbins, Katie Fiermonti and husband Seth, Erin Jasina and husband Greg, Michael Fournier and wife Caroline, Andrew Smith and fiancée Kate; and six great grandchildren, Luke, Joey, Madeline, Benjamin, Hudson, and Whitaker; and one very special 'sister friend,' Del Roberts.
Madeline was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Thomas Robbins, in 1999 after 57 years of marriage.

Madeline will be remembered for her beautiful cross-stitch, especially her annual hand stitched Christmas cards, for her love of music, dance and golf, her far-reaching charitable gifts to those in need, and her passion for birds and butterflies.

Memorial gifts, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the St. Labre Indian School of Ashland, MT at www.stlabre.org; and the St. Vincent de Paul Society of Naples, FL at www.svdpnaples.org.

The family will receive friends at a memorial visitation on Sunday, October 12, 2014 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Shikany's Bonita Funeral Home, 28300 Tamiami Trail South.

Robbins-MemorialA Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church. Inurnment will follow at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church Memorial Garden.
