Dear Neighbors and Friends,
The members of the Volunteer First Aid Squad of the Fair Haven Fire Company are seeking your support in our annual fund drive—our primary fundraising effort—to cover supplies, equipment, and increased training requirements. We do not charge for our services. This past year, we purchased new mannequins for training and automatic external defibrillators (AEDs) for CPR.
Since 1930, our members have provided around-the-clock emergency medical services and pre-hospital care to the community. We participate in drills and continuing education to meet or exceed State requirements and ensure top-quality service. We support community events, provide safety demonstrations for local scouts, and offer mutual aid to neighboring towns. In 2024, our 30+ active members answered 479 emergency calls and donated 3,807 volunteer hours—a 40% increase from 2023. In 2025, the call volume is rising significantly over prior years.
To facilitate the legacy of volunteerism, our squad has established a “cadet” program, allowing participation in squad activities for those who have attained the age of 15; our cadets experience hands-on training during drills, and assist on certain emergency calls.

Please consider joining our all-volunteer Squad by sending your contact information to: fhfascaptain@fhfd.org and we will discuss with you the commitment required of our members.
Thanks to your support, we’ve been able to upgrade critical medical equipment. In past years, about 15% of households and businesses have contributed during our fund drive. No gift is too small—every donation helps. We hope participation will increase this year, so we can continue providing volunteer services.
If you prefer, you may send your donation by using the button below (in the “notes” section, please identify yourself and the amount of your donation) or by sending a check, payable to FAIR HAVEN VOLUNTEER FIRST AID SQUAD in the enclosed self-addressed envelope.
We look forward to serving Fair Haven beyond our 95th year.
Sincerely,
Gregory J. Goepfert,
Fund Drive Chairman
