The Fair Haven Fire Company is entirely volunteer and consists of the following five specialized organizations, all operating under one command structure:
Fire Department
First Aid Squad/Emergency Medical Services
Fire Police
Water Rescue Unit
Auxiliary
Future Firefighters
The Fair Haven Fire Company is an all volunteer organization that has a proud history of providing emergency services for the Borough of Fair Haven and surrounding communities. Around 1900, the permanent population of Fair Haven and its surrounding area was about 1,000 persons. Naturally, fire always was a concern of rural areas and Fair Haven was no exception. Fire insurance was not carried by some residents and businessmen. A disastrous fire could literally wipe out an entire life’s investment and leave the victim ruined. Auxiliary Duties The primary objective of the Auxiliary is to provide the Fire Company with whatever is needed for it to succeed at its mission. The Fair Haven Volunteer Fire Company Auxiliary was established in the early 1920’s at the “Ladies Auxiliary” and has continued to serve the Fire Company in various endeavors ever since.
