John M. Haney

John M. Haney, 67, of Fair Haven, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, June 27, 2013. Born in Lakewood, NJ, to the Rev. Sanford M. Haney and Lois Salisbury Haney, John moved to Fair Haven in 1974, where he and his wife, Janene, raised their two sons. John proudly served his country as a member of the Armed Forces during the Vietnam War. He was a parishioner of Embury United Methodist Church and a 36 year member of Fair Haven’s Volunteer Fire Company and First Aid Squad. John loved the outdoors and camping, was a race-car enthusiast, and loved to read.

John was predeceased by his parents and his beloved Janene. He is survived by his sons, Jeremy and wife Michelle of Old Bridge, and Jason and wife Victoria of Sayreville, by his brother, David Haney and wife Margaret of Glassboro and his mother-in-law, Millie Kollock of Little Silver. Four grandchildren, Bridget, Abigail, Penelope, and Wesley, as well as a large extended family.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2013, 11:00 am at Embury United Methodist Church in Little Silver. For those wishing honor his memory, in lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to the Fair Haven First Aid Squad, PO Box 142, Fair Haven, NJ 07704.
