Fair Haven soldier killed in Army training accident in New Mexico

Published in the Asbury Park Press Jan. 25, 2019 A soldier from Fair Haven was killed Tuesday evening in an Army training accident in Otero County, New Mexico. Pfc. Jamie R. Riley, 21, died in a crash between two Stryker vehicles at McGregor Range, along with Cpl. Cole Trevor Wixom, 24, of Bloomingdale, Michigan. Both soldiers were assigned to 1st Battalion, 36th Infantry Regiment, 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, according to the U.S. Army. Jamie Riley, class of 2011, has graduated from specialized training in the US Army and is looking forward to his assignment and serving his country. Mr. Riley is the grandson of ex-Chief John Riley, Sr. On January 21, 2019, Pfc. Jamie Riley died during a training exercise. May he rest in peace. more information
