ETHEL A. MC GUIRE AGE: 81 FAIR HAVEN Ethel A. McGuire, 81, of Fair Haven, was born Sept. 13, 1927 to Olga Anlauf and Karl Rank and passed away Sunday, Nov. 23. She graduated from Union High School, Union, after which she attended Monmouth Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, where she graduated in 1948, and Monmouth College, to become a registered nurse. Richard “Dick” E. Pettigrew, Sr.

RICHARD “DICK” E. PETTIGREW SR., 82, of FAIR HAVEN, died Thursday, Sept. 27, at his home. Born in Scranton, Pa., he had been a lifelong resident of Fair Haven, where he had been a member and former chief of the Fair Haven Fire Department since 1953. He was a member of the Christ Church United Methodist, Fair Haven and was one of the first coaches of the Fair Haven Pop Warner football program. FRANCIS “FRANK” XAVIER MOYNAHAN

FRANCIS “FRANK” XAVIER MOYNAHAN, 81, of FAIR HAVEN, passed away Monday, May 5, at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank, with members of his family by his side. Frank was a lifelong resident of Fair Haven. He attended Rumson High School and graduated from a two-year Western Electric program. Frank worked as an installer for Western Electric until his retirement at the age of 62. During World War II, he served with the U.S. Navy. Charles F. Meyer

CHARLES F. MEYER, 88, of the Whiting section of MANCHESTER, died Sunday, April 6. Mr. Meyer was born in Yonkers, N.Y. He lived in Fair Haven for 34 years before moving to Crestwood Village in 1986. He moved to The Pines at Whiting in 2000. He was a precision instrument tool maker for Bendix Corp. for eight years, and Bell Labs in Holmdel for 17 years, retiring in 1985. CORNELIUS J. “NIEL” BRIODY, 86, of TINTON FALLS, died Friday, April 4, at Sea Brook Village, Tinton Falls. He was a co-owner of Briody’s Restaurant’s in Rumson and Jersey City for 37 years with his brother, Joseph Briody Sr., retiring in 1985.
